Compassionate Therapy for the Mind, Body and Soul.

“Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.”

- John C. Maxwell

Welcome! I am so glad you are here!

Hi, I’m Kimberly, and I help “emerging" teens and adults. Don’t you love that term? I do! What does it mean?

Definition of emerge:

intransitive verb
1 : to become manifest : become known
2 : to rise from : come forth into view
3 : to come into being through evolution; develop

It means that you are in process.

The truth is, all of life is “in process” but I imagine you are here because  seriously, THIS time, this time is intense. Let’s face it, it can kind of suck! This time feels like MAJOR process time.  I get it.  I understand how challenging  and downright terrifying it can be starting something new you've never done before, trying to change, trying to write a new story, trying to start over.  I totally hear you when you say, “OK, can I just ‘EMERGE’ already? I am done sitting in this shit stew of uncertainty!” I’ve been in that place, the one where you question who you are and what you want and what you are doing and you are secretly afraid that you are making ALL the wrong decisions and are going to ruin your life FOREVER.

I get it.

I work with people in all types of life transitions across the lifespan: starting college and ending college, starting, changing or ending a career, embarking on parenthood or launching a kid, beginning a marriage/relationship or ending one, grief and loss of all kinds, loss of health, loss of a loved one, loss of how you thought things were supposed to be.

I LOVE these transitions.

They are fertile ground for optimism and strength and honing who you are! They are also prime moments that can cause anxiety, stress, depression and identity crisis! While it can feel super uncomfortable to be in a period of instability and uncertainty, it is also a time of possibility, and I am honored to walk alongside you in the journey to figuring out, because I believe you can, and you will, figure it out. You know how. Even if it’s hard.

I am here to help you cultivate the courage you need to walk into and through change like a boss.

My theoretical orientation draws inspiration and expertise from Psychodynamic Theory. Additionally, I am informed by Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion, Attachment Theory, Non-Violent Communication, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Buddhist Psychology. That's a mouthful, but it just means I am going to throw you some serious space to  tune in to your wise self that knows exactly how to create the life you want.

The more I have helped students over my many, many years helping students, the more excited I get about this time of life and the unique challenges and development that can happen during this time. Some of the many transitions I help students through:
